Carpet Service Express Fabric Protection

Almost all new carpet has some type of protective over-spray applied during the manufacturing process – whether it is 3M’s Scotchgard™, Dupont’s Teflon®, or the carpet manufacturer’s own product.

Remember when your carpet was new, and any type of spill was easily cleaned from the surface of your carpet? Now, however, you notice that in high-traffic areas, spills no longer clean off so easily from the surface.  Spills also tend to just soak through. This happens because the mill applied over-sprays that have worn off with foot traffic.

So, most manufacturers recommend applying a protective over-spray after cleaning to replace protection removed by wear. In addition to protective over-sprays resisting spills, they also help prevent the carpet from wearing out as quickly. The majority of soil found in your carpet is particulate soil, tracked in from outside. These soils act as sandpaper on your carpet fibers, causing them to abrade and wear out.

Protective over-sprays provide a coating that helps resist this type of staining. Carpet Service Express offers a carpet and fabric protective spray recommended by manufacturers.

We also do carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and carpet repair!
